Membership/Vineyard 101

We are a people who value commitment to one another. We recognize that all teams have members and without members there is no team. Membership is a biblical idea. When we become a follower of Jesus, we become a member or part of his body (1 Corinthians 12).

What is membership? Membership is a commitment to belong to our community and to receive and give love, and ministry in and through the body of Christ.

What does membership require of me?

Availability: “I am open to be used by God for ministry in and through VCH. My gifts and service are available for the fulfillment of God’s vision for this church.”

Dependability: “I can be counted on to do my part in carrying out the vision and mission of VCH. You can depend on me to be an active participant in the life of the church.”

Accountability: “I expect the other members of VCH to hold me accountable for the commitments I have made to God and his people. I am open to encouragement, as well as correction which will help me to live in consistent obedience to Jesus."

What do I get in return? We believe that by God’s design, we can experience the fullness of life in Christ as we serve him through the context of a local community.

What do I do to become a member?

If you feel that you are called to serve God through the calling and expression of VCH, we ask you to let us know by filling out our membership form after attending Vineyard 101. This form will ask you to indicate your agreement with the following:

1. I have committed my life to Jesus as Lord. I have expressed that commitment through water baptism or will be baptized.

2. I believe God has called me to make this my home church and commit to regular attendance on Sunday mornings.

3. I have completed the class, Vineyard 101.

4. I commit myself to a path of growing in maturity with Christ and his people at the VCH.

5. I commit to giving financially to the ministry of this church.

Vineyard 101 – Over lunch with the pastors, you will learn about the global Vineyard movement and our church’s history, values, mission, and vision. And hopefully we’ll get to know you too! This class is offered once a quarter and held immediately following the morning service in the Norhill Room on the 2nd floor. Childcare is offered with pre-registration.
