We love and value children, and we hope that it shows in everything we do! God has crafted a unique a church community here that nurtures, teaches, supports, shepherds, and prepares the next generation. We communicate the beautiful story of God in an exciting, balanced, and age-appropriate way.
With the above in mind, the nursery and children’s department has a plan for different stages of your child’s development, utilizing our church's artistic talent to creatively infuse kids with excitement about learning the Bible; art, music, puppets, drama, film, games and object lessons.

Nursery through Pre-K
The Vineyard’s nursery cares for children from birth through pre-K. This is by far the cutest area in the church and we feel one of the most important. It is here (and at home) that children first learn about the Bible, hear about Jesus’ great love for them, and sing their first worship songs. It is here that they get their first impressions of church and Sunday school. Our nursery staff takes this responsibility seriously and has created an atmosphere that is colorful, exciting, clean, and safe! Feel free to come check it out. There are monitors in the family room where you can see what is going on. To find out more about our nursery, as well as download nursery policies and procedures, click here.
Elementary (Kindergarten through 5th Grade)
In children’s church, we walk through the Bible, book by book, every 6 years. We started in the New Testament - then move to the Old Testament. We believe that the Bible’s truths, when communicated effectively, are far better than any movie, fairy tale, comic book, or video game imaginable! On Sunday, the elementary children have breakfast snacks, sing, dance, enjoy a group lesson, and then divide into small groups for crafts, games, and prayer. While we do not baptize infants at The Vineyard, we do encourage parents to follow the example of Jesus’ parents in Luke 2:22 and of Hannah in 1 Samuel. A few times a year, we offer opportunities for parents to stand before the church to publicly dedicate their children. This usually involves making commitments to your child and the church community making commitments as well. If you are interested in dedicating your baby, please register here and someone will contact you with more information.
It is our deep desire and prayer that every child passing through our doors comes to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. After he/she has taken that first step, we encourage them to take the next step - baptism.
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" Matthew 28:19. When a child expresses a desire to be baptized, we have them attend our children's baptism class held one week before baptisms. This class is held during their time in Children's Church and is usually taught by our Children's Pastor, Jill Lively. To download a copy of our children's baptism brochure, click here. Check the church calendar for the next date we are holding children's baptisms here.
